Canada Post Strike Update
We want to keep you informed about some changes to our shipping services due to a potential Canada Post strike.
No Changes for U.S. Customers
For our U.S. customers, all shipping services remain the same. We continue to offer a flat rate of $5 USD and free shipping on orders of $50 USD or more, both with tracking through USPS and our Canadian partner ChitChats. These services do not rely on Canada Post and are not affected by the strike.
What’s Changing for Canadian Orders?
To ensure reliable delivery during this busy holiday season, we’ve removed all Canada Post options from our website.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Free Shipping on Orders $75+: Orders over $75 CAD (before tax) will qualify for free shipping, also tracked and estimated to arrive within 4-12 business days.
- Other Shipping Options: If your order doesn't qualify for free shipping or you prefer a speedier shipping option, you will have the choice of a variety of other non-Canada Post carriers at checkout. The rates displayed show the cost to deliver to your specific address and include the approximate delivery timeline from our facility to your address. Please note that these times do not include the time it takes for us to prepare your order once it's placed and the time we print your shipping label.
- PO Boxes, RR and LCD Addresses: Unfortunately, we're not able to deliver to any of these addresses during the Canada Post strike as other carriers will not service these addresses.
Policy for Delayed Orders Due to Canada Post Strike
If you placed an order before November 15, 2024 and selected our Canada Post Lettermail flat rate or free shipping options at checkout and have not yet received your order, it will be delayed due to the strike.

What Happens to Orders Stuck in the Canada Post System?
As announced by Canada Post, during the national strike by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), their operations are temporarily shut down. This means mail and parcels already in their system aren’t being processed or delivered.
Canada Post has assured that all items in their network are secure and will be delivered as soon as possible on a first-in, first-out basis once operations resume. However, they have suspended service guarantees, and it may take extra time to clear the backlog once the strike ends.
Duration of Strike Delays
The Canada Post strike has made delivery timelines unpredictable. While we included information at checkout about the possibility of delays when choosing Canada Post, the exact length of these delays depends on how long the strike lasts. We’re keeping a close eye on the situation and appreciate your patience as we wait for updates.
Definition of "Lost" Orders
Due to the special circumstances of the Canada Post strike, we are allowing extra time for delayed orders to arrive. Orders shipped via Canada Post Lettermail will be considered lost if they haven’t arrived 30 Canada Post business days after the date they were shipped.
- What’s a Canada Post business day? These are weekdays (Monday to Friday) when Canada Post is operational. They exclude weekends, holidays, and strike days when no mail is moving.
This extended timeframe accounts for the additional delays caused by the strike and the time needed for Canada Post to clear any backlogs once operations resume. We appreciate your patience as we work through these exceptional circumstances together.
