No, I don't think it's absurd at all to want to reach the right people with my marketing.
Thinking that my product will appeal to everyone is a BIG mistake. Plenty of people love it, but there are plenty of others who just won't be into my lip balms for reasons ranging from them not liking lip balm, to not liking me, and everything in between.
My job as a marketer is to find as many people who are likely to be interested in my products as possible, and social media has been a great place for me to do that. It's been cost-effective, and I think it's fun too, so it’s a win-win in my book! Sure, not everyone who sees my videos will be my ideal customer. But I think that talking about my products and what I do in an authentic way really resonates with the right people.
I know not everyone will like me, my message, or my lip balm, but I'm not here to convince them and they can easily keep scrolling. I'm here to talk about my products and what I do, and to encourage others by sharing my honest take on running a small business!
