Every time I post a video of me making lip balm, the internet blesses me with some very strange comments.

One day, I logged onto YouTube to find a real gem: someone accusing me of using beaver butts in my lip balm. (Yes. really - we've got a screenshot for you in the images section)

If you're wondering where that idea came from, let me introduce you to castoreum—a substance that technically comes from a beaver’s behind and smells like vanilla.

It has been used in perfume, food, and cosmetics… but don’t worry, it’s super rare these days, and I definitely DO NOT use it in my products.

But when the internet throws weirdness at me, I roll with it. And when people begged me to make a beaverless Beaver Butts Lip Balm, I just had to do it.

And no, it doesn’t smell like vanilla. I picked maple—because beavers are very Canadian, and I get to decide what things smell like around here. 🍁

A fun little useful gift

I bought these for my Sorority sisters they will enjoy the laugh, be happy they are made in Canada and I’m sure will love the way it makes your lips feel. Having never been that close to a beavers butt I can only assume that the source of this lip balm is really not from there. 🤣🤣🤣

I chose Beaver Butts just for the name (to send to my American nieces) but so glad I got one for myself too. Perfect consistency and long-lasting. I thought at first that the maple scent would be too strong but only that first time. Now I love it! Also got the Strawberry Sundae and the Vanilla Buttercream. They all smell delicious! I will definitely be ordering these again and look forward to trying them all.

Came for the Name, Stayed for the Balm!

I honestly tried this one out purely because of the name/background story! I didn't think I would like a maple lip balm, but I was so pleasantly surprised to absolutely LOVE this flavor! Definitely a fast favorite. As all of the wonderful balms at Eclair Lips, it is smooth and such a comfort.
